Why are we so excited for you to meet Josh? Because A. he rocks and B. we welcome him to the Flying Garter Management family! We will be helping with some bookings so read on!!
What do you get when you cross a guitar player and a violin player who can rock a Joan Jett medley and then play some beautiful classical music? You get Josh Zuckerman.
Josh is a talented, unique musician who combines his talents (not at the same time of course) of playing violin and guitar (oh yea he sings too! And piano!). His unique violin style breaks the traditional boundaries of what you'd expect. Sure, he could throw a tux on and play Canon in D as a bride walks down the aisle but he can also do a mean cover of Crazy Train on the same violin. He has six albums and four singles to his name and has been a performer for 25 years! He even recorded (and collaborated) with legendary drummer Thommy Price and bassist Gary Ryan of Joan Jett and The Blackhearts.
Raised in St. Louis, Missouri, he was introduced to the violin at age eight and studied for the next five years. He eventually relocated to the Garden State and performed with several cover bands before going solo in 1996 while simultaneously performing with Up With People band from 1996 to 1998. Today, you can find him all over NJ performing with his band - The Josh Zuckerman Band -
as well as playing solo and duos.
His band is made up of Paul Galiszewski on percussion, Julian Michalski on bass and Tom Briant on lead vocals with Josh also taking on lead vocals, guitar and of course, violin. You can hear original tunes alongside classic rock covers from the 70s and 80s to pop hits from today.
Most recently, I caught the whole band at the Highlands Clam Fest and his duo with Paul on percussion at The Robinson Ale House in Asbury. They covered such hits as:
Come on Eileen
Take on Me
Sweet Child of Mine
Separate Ways
Joan Jett medley
Crazy Train
Stairway to Heaven
Flowers
I was Made for Loving You
Give him a follow on his socials and check out videos on his website, his youtube or on The Flying Garter's highlight reels.
In the meantime, if you want to book Josh and the band (or a solo or duo), reach out to Flying Garter Entertainment to get more info! Contact Danielle (Cha Cha Cherry) at theflyinggarter@gmail.com.
