The Flying Garter
Who the hell are we?
If you ever get lonely, just go to the record store and visit your friends. ~ Penny Lane
Just two 40 and 50-something rock goddess moms in Monmouth County, NJ who LOVE music (and DANCING). Especially LIVE MUSIC.
It fuels our soul.

Our Story
Dani and Jenny met years ago when their daughters were in dance together and were officially branded "dance moms." However, once the dance studio closed, they lost touch only to run into each other once again and guess what brought them back together? Not dance, my little friends. Music. Dani was heading to The Stone Pony to see Deftones by herself and Jenny was going with her crew and said join us.
Fast forward to today...you'll find these two dancing away to your fav local cover bands and touring artists.

Cha Cha Cherry
Danielle, aka"Cha Cha Cherry," grew up surrounded by music, playing her dad's 45s in the basement. Her dad, Nick, a talented drummer, was asked to join Tommy James and the Shondells when he was a senior in HS (his parents said helllll no, finish HS). He was a lifelong drummer playing in many wedding/cover bands as well as a beloved drum instructor. Occasionally, Danielle will pick up the sticks and play (very badly) but grew to appreciate music as a dancer, including 10 years as a ballroom and belly dance instructor. Danielle got into cover bands back at Mothers Night Club in Wayne, NJ where you could find her selling roses or shots back in her college days.
Her music tastes are all over the place but 70s rock is her core (Lynyrd Skynyrd, Led Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac, Creedence, Cream, Queen, Janis, Blondie). She also has a soft spot for ska / punk / skapunk (Less Than Jake, Goldfinger, Reel Big Fish, MxPx, NOFX) and - surprisingly - 70s disco. She rounds it out with some Edie Brickell, Deftones, Stick Figure, 311, Harry Connick and anything classical.
Jtweeta
Jenny, aka “Jtweets,“ was introduced to music by her brother Tommy, a former lead singer and a bassist in a rock band. She loved going to live shows starting in middle school. From Obsessions in Randolph to Connections in Clifton, Jenny was always at the front of the stage supporting not only his bands but some of her friends’ as well. Although she is proud of her Irish heritage because of her late father, it is because of her Colombian mother and her late grandmother who taught Jenny rhythm and how to dance. They taught her never be afraid to shake them hips! Jenny has a love for live music and dance that has kept her on the scene for well over 20 years. Her mother introduced her to Sade, Anita Baker and Julio Iglesis, while her brother introduced her to The Doors, Motley Crue, Pantera and Deftones. She loves all types of music and will absolutely find a way to dance to any and all of it. Her favorite band is Clutch, having seen them back in 96 her love for them has never stopped as they continue to produce new albums.
Now that they've found their partners-in-crime on the dance floor, it has inspired this new journey so they can share their love of music with others.
