Can you believe it's 2025?! First of all, going into the new year, we'd like to thank everyone for your support of our little blog that just started a few months ago! Big plans for 2025!
Cha Cha and Jtweets caught a lot of good music in December. Here's our round-up...
Mushmouth at Crossroads (Garwood)
This band has been around since 1996 but this was our first time seeing them. These guys play to the crowd - a mix of music from the 70s to now (with a sweet touch of just enough disco to keep Cha Cha happy). Overall this was a fun night as we brought our brothers out (two of three which are musicians) and everyone agreed - these guys got talent. The crowd loved them and they brought a great mix of energy and fun to Crossroads that night (we particularly love the disco ball hat worn by the lead singer). Like I said, they played a mix of disco and we also heard some Bruce, Taylor Swift, The Cure, some country and more. They are a party band - I can definitely see why you'd want to book them for a wedding. Even more interesting is that Cha Cha realized she preciously worked with not one but two of the guys in the band two decades ago (one of whom was her boss for several years!) Check them out at one of their shows - they have a lot coming up! They will keep you dancing for sure!
The Dogs at Crossroads
Following Mushmouth's performance at Crossroads, The Dogs took the stage. Not only had we never seen them but this was our first time hearing of them. Let me tell you. These guys may be very young but dang - they could rock. We loved them! They played hits from the 60s to now. I was really digging their set list which had everything from Fleetwood Mac to Skynyrd to the White Stripes on it and so much more. They've only been around since 2022 but their future seems very promising. We can't wait to catch them again. Check out their Insta for some videos.
The Benjamins Trio at MJ's Matawan
We covered The Benjamins not that long ago here. But recently we had the chance to check out their trio at MJ's in Matawan. Brothers Ben and Joe on vocals and acoustic guitar and Dennis on drums (a smaller kit) and vocal play some rockin jams together. It's got a more low key, chill vibe than when you get the whole band together and we were feeling it. Added bonus - the little banter and side jokes come for free.
2025 and The Flying Garter
Where will this year take us? We don't know for sure yet but we are gonna keep on doing what we love best. We have some ideas floating around our little heads on bringing more music and collabs to you so stay tuned and rock on my little friends.
