Over here at Flying Garter Entertainment, we are excited to announce the latest musician we've teamed up to promote and work with on bookings!
Meet RadioStar!
RadioStar is a cover band with multi-talented and experienced musicians on the NJ/NY music scene. They are high-energy, have a diverse setlist and are sure to keep you grooving and moving on the dance floor all night. Sing along to the greatest rock, country, 80s, 90s and current pop hits. Let's meet the boys...
Gary Star has been honing his craft as the lead singer in a variety of bands in NYC since the early 1980s. His influences include Elvis, Tom Jones, Freddie Mercury and Ronnie James Dio. In the early 2000s, he co-wrote and sang lead on an album entitled "Better Daze" by the band Moses Soulfish, which was released in Europe and can still be heard on Spotify, Apple and Amazon Music. Today, Gary can be seen energizing crowds to dance and sing along with RadioStar throughout NJ and NY.
Rob Star has played all over the eastern half of the country from New England to Florida to Texas to Kansas. Touring with various bands for five years before spending years in NYC recording studios, writing, producing, playing and singing. HIs work has appeared on multiple major record company releases including with Lisa Lisa. He now adds his powerful guitar playing and singing to RadioStar.
On bass, we have Mike Star. He has a bass guitar, a bass amp and a bass attitude. Mike can be seen making faces at the drummer as they lock in on timing and feel. Just don't give him water after midnight!
Rashid Star started his music career in 1977 at age 17 joining his first cover band with legendary singer Ray Gillen (RIP) of Black Sabbath and Badlands. He then went on to play in many cover and original bands from the 80s to today including Roadtrip, The Barb Wires and Koverup. In addition he was part of several bands and projects with legendary drummer Chris Martin (RIP).
Marty Star has been a passionate drummer for over 40 years, bringing rhythm and energy to every performance. Self-taught with guidance from legendary drummers like Bernard Purdie and Steve Smith, he honed his craft through dedication and study. Marty was the drummer of the band Koverup, filling that spot for over seven years and other top tier bands before that. You can catch Marty showcasing his dynamic skills that elevate and complement every song he plays with groove and feel.
Rob, Marty and Rashid started the band, Red Rox, a few years ago and put an ad on Facebook to which Gary answered in 2024. The first bass player left and Gary called Mike to join. At that point, the band name changed to RadioStar and they have been rocking venues ever since. Any time you catch RadioStar you can be sure everyone is on their feet dancing and singing along.
If you don't believe me, check out some of their YouTube videos here. Or catch them live at Zeppelin Hall Beer Garden in Jersey City on September 20th from 3-7 pm.
