Perhaps a bottle of rose instead...
If you've spent your summers down the Jersey Shore anytime from the late 90s to now, chances are you've seen Brian Kirk and the Jirks play. This popular cover band has its roots at the Jersey Shore. And this girl has been a fan since her college days renting her shore house on 16th Ave. in Belmar and trekking to Tradewinds and Donovan's to catch Kirk and his band.
Over the last two weekends, The Flying Garter caught not one but two of his local shows. First up, Kirk played to the crowd at Jenk's after the Making Strides for Breast Cancer Walk in Point Pleasant. The crowd was filled with a sea of pink clad walkers and supporters for a good cause. Then the band made its way up the Parkway to Middletown Day on a crisp fall day.
Brian Kirk and the Jirks don't just play the Jersey Shore. You can catch them all over the state of NJ, at charity events and other special events, including weddings.
What makes Kirk and his band so likeable is not just the ever-evolving playlist of crowd favorites coupled with tried-and-true singalongs but Kirk's fun personality and his amazing backing talent. Kirk plays so well to the crowd (he will take requests if you yell them out - side note: Cha Cha Cherry tries to refrain from requesting S.O.B. at family friendly events) and you will often find him out in the crowd dancing with everyone while he is singing.
But let's not forget about the Jirks, a mix of super-talented musicians and singers. Seriously tho - the guy has a knack for bringing in top talent. Brian isn't the only one singing.
On lead vocals is the lovely Delacey who can belt out a variety of genres of music. Girl got pipes.
Then you got one of our favorite bass players, Greg, who just emits coolness with those strings.
The Grande brothers on keyboard, guitar and vocals - in their early 20s and super talented (how does one family produce TWO amazingly talented musicians?!)
On drums, Kevin is pounding away the beats (we need a drum solo please).
Let's not forget that horn section. Led by Tyrone - a crowd favorite - the horn section doesn't just enhance the music - these guys get down too. We heart the synchronized choreography.
Kirk and the Jirks play a wide variety of tunes that gets everyone up dancing and singing. They are the ultimate party band playing all genres of music and having a blast doing so. Don't just wait for the summer to come down the Jersey Shore to see this band. They are a top pick all year round. Legends of the Jersey Shore.
